Just Born

Just Born
Three baby Bluebirds and three baby blue eggs!

This afternoon while checking the bluebird box in the back yard . . . . we had 3 baby bluebirds just hatch!  These babies could have been just a few hours old!  I just love this time of the year!

  3. Ah, brings back such sweet memories of my days when I was “raising” canaries, cockatiels, and other birds. I hand-fed them so I saw babies being hatched just about every month. A lot of work, but some precious memories!

Outstanding. Well done Tom… I am going to share this blog with some of our teachers at school. Thanks for creating this… 🙂

  6. Oh, they look so helpless! What a job the parents have ahead of them.

How sweet to have them in your back yard so you can watch them grow up. The house wrens fledged from the box outside my office window today. We got to watch 6 come out. Unbelieveable. I hope they all survive.

  8. It still always amazes me that those come out of small little eggs! I have four more eggs in a new nest to add to the six that fledged in May! Love the bluebirds!

Oh my! So tiny. Guess I’ve never seen a baby bird–they are quite something, aren’t they?

They are rather ugly. A face only a mother could love!

  13. Very cool – I haven’t seen bluebird chicks in years. I might have to go check out some of the local boxes.
