Life Appreciated
I have been blessed to know an amazing family for over two years and I am always finding myself dieing to find an update on her photostream!! It all started with friends commenting on other friend’s flickr pages when I suddenly found Colleen commenting on my photos . . . we suddenly became flickr contacts and I remember we were always viewing each others nature photography! Then one day you find pictures of her little girl after having two brain surgeries and you are lost with emotion!!
Her daughter Ellie had a large tumor growing and after surgery she continued with multiple rounds of radiation treatments with high doses of chemotherapy. In late 2008 the miracle happened with Ellie finishing her treatments at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and was diagnosed as cancer free! Ellie has returned home and quickly started returning back to her childhood!
Colleen has continued sharing her love of nature photography and recently started her own personal blog called Life Appreciated! She isn’t just blogging about nature . . . expect to also hear about her amazing two daughters and random thoughts that she wants to share with everyone! I guarantee you will fall in love with her family and be amazed with her nature photography!

Wow! I am at a loss for words…I was a bit horrified when I started reading, but I am overjoyed that I finished reading it.

I became acquainted with Colleen last fall, and was also touched by their story with Ellie’s journey. I am so happy she has started her very own blog to share her talent and words with us to make us all know that life is fully to be appreciated. :c)

Tom, I first read Colleen and Ellie’s story when Jayne posted a link, and asked for prayers.
I did see the photo of the new kitten (Kanye?). He is a cutie. Almost looks like a little furry ghost.

Ellie and her wide-eyed kitten are adorable. Yes, if there’s one thing that will cause a parent to ask for prayer, it’s having a child in trouble. I pray for a speedy recovery with no residual effects.

I discovered Ellie’s story through Jayne’s blog as well. What a wonderful family and a moving story. Somehow makes my little concerns pretty insignificant. Glad you linked to it as well. I already knew you were a nice guy!
