Rainy Saturday
This rainy weather is for the ducks or should I say Common Mergansers! They are predicting sun for tomorrow, so expect me to get out and do some catch up on my birding.I did get out today and assist running some transects in searching for a Goshawk Nest. We came up empty but did come across my first Black-throated Green Warbler for 2007 (CHECK)!
Old photo taken back in 1998 and scanned from a slide!
_More nice photos! I learned the BT-Green song last year.-It’s one I don’t think I’ll forget.-enjoy your birding day on Sunday.

Huh. You can scan slides?
My Dad had about five huge boxes of them. Scanning would preserve them!
How do you do it?

Bummer you didn’t find the goshawk pair, but very cool you saw a Black-throated Green Warbler!

I love the photographs of birds being held. They don’t look stressed or frantic. It must be quite a skill to know how to hold them just so.

@ Larry, have not gone out yet but did do a little in the back yard! heading out here soon for some evening birding!
@ Susan – they don’t turn out good and this one was after doing a little photoshopping! But, I purchased a scanner a long time ago! HP scanner!
@ Pam, would have been fun but doesn’t mean it isn’t their! I will find it sooner or later!
@ Cathy – they sure are mine also!
@ Robin – thanks and it doesn’t stress them that much! I have had birds catch insects with me holding them like this! At that point I just let them go!

Handsome ducks, but they’re funny-looking out of the water!

How nice you saw the Black Throat, it was a rainy Saturday but it was pretty good weather for the tree planting I was helping out with

Love the Common Mergansers – I don’t think I’ve ever seen them walking on the ground!

I SO need to get out – but we’re going out to do a Bird Count contest on Saturday with Anita Gould at Palmyra Cove Nature Park in NJ. Feel free to drive all the way down if you’re bored. LOL.
