Canada Goose Nesting in an Osprey Platform
I was out earlier this week in Allegany State Park checking out the Osprey Platforms and happen to find this strange bird up in the nest. Could it seriously be a Canada Goose up there?? Next day returned and sure enough this Canada Goose is up in this Osprey Platform “NESTING”!! I am now starting to worry about these little guys jumping down . . . . ! Just never know what you might find in Allegany!!

Wow- How will mom get them down? I don’t think swimming in air is going to work.

Hi,
I’m curious, because today I saw the very same thing and I too am wondering what this means for any goslings that might be in the nest. Do you know what the result of this nesting was, and if so could you let me know. I’m not sure whether I should be contacting some sort of wildlife groups or if this is common and the geese will get the youngsters to ground level safely when its time.
