Love all the flycatchers – need to clean out the biting insects 🙂 Great photo

Nice one. Saw one of these in the trees at the Belmont Park baseball fields last week. He kept flying off of the tree, grabbing a bug, eat it – then repeat.
What’s that process called when they launch, wing around in complex patterns after a bug and then land on the same perch?

Hi Monarch, haven’t been here in a while. Nice blog! Our resident kingbird arrived last week. I think I am going to plant an old walking stick in the garden for him. He needs a place to perch.

I Have seen my first Eastern Kingbird. Every morning it is outside my window preached atop of my lilac bush. I finally got out my bird book so i could identify it and was happy I did.
