Greater Yellowlegs at Chincoteague
These Greater Yellowlegs had truly put on a show for me while visiting Chincoteague National Wildlife Refuge last weekend. I had many opportunities for photographing them and these were my favorites!

Ah, the Greater Yellowlegs. One of my favorite birds to watch while flatwater kayaking out here in Oregon. Great photos.

We’ve never seen one of these! What a remarkable looking bird. We also loved the heron pictures — what an opportunity to be able to get up close — our herons, like your usual ones, are quite wary. Will the pony video still be coming? We’re quite excited to see it =)

Oh, to get that close for such beautiful shots. The only time I ever saw any yellowlegs (and I’m not sure if both lesser and greater were there), I saw them at quite a distance. My binocs could hardly “find” them. 🙂 Great job, Monarch.
