Little Wood Turtle

Wood Turtle

Today I found a tiny wood turtle along one of the paths that I was walking here in Allegany State Park. Wasn’t the smallest Wood Turtle that I have ever found but it is unusual to find little ones like this!! Of course I had to take a few pictures of it!

  9. What a sweet thing. I found a very small turtle once, probably a little larger than a quarter, on Loop Road in Big Cypress National Preserve. I couldn’t believe how tiny it was and only took a photo with the camera phone. I should upload it some day.

  11. Wow.
What I would do to find a baby turtle.
I consider it great luck to find any turtle at all. A baby, no less!

I’ve always assumed the little ones stay so well concealed, it’s almost impossible.

I remember the other one you found. Glad to see this one is in good shape. I took a “cabin fever” walk on Saturday, but I wasn’t so lucky. No turtles or other animals, unless you count horses.
