Two Years of fLiCkR
Two years ago today . . . . I joined flickr and uploaded my first picture to their website. I never realized how sharing pictures would change my life and cost me as much money as it has (buying photography equipment). I have made SO MANY wonderful friends over these past two years and I have learned SO MUCH from everyone!! Ultimately, flickr had introduced me to other types of media (like becoming a blogger) and I am now able to share my words with my photography.
Red-Spotted Purple (my first photo uploaded to flickr)
Thanks again for everyone’s kind words!! I hope that year 3 will brings me many more opportunities to capture new and different pictures to share with everyone.

flickr rocks! I haven’t made as many friends on flickr as you say you have and I haven’t spent as much on photography either but I love flickr. It is a terrific tool for learning photography.

Two whole years Monarch. Wow that seems like a long time. I bet it has gone by fast. I do so look forward to your posts. I have learned a lot from you. Your lessons are so beautifully illustrated with your pictures they seem like such fun to learn.

Happy Flickrversary Tom-I love Flickr-I’ve met so many great people (like you ;D) and I think I know the birds of Australia better than the North American ones!

I’ve enjoyed your photos for many months now. Flickr is a wonderful place although time consuming and does indeed lead to expensive camera purchases 🙂

Congratulations on 2 years. You never know how things can snowball and how many new things you learn. What’s so great is you get to interact with people with the same interests from all over. Technology can be so great.

Tom, I’m so glad you urged me to join Flickr, too. I am coming up on a year in February.
Your photos and blog are a treat for all of us.

Tom-You’re bird and Nature photos are truly some of the best I’ve seen. I actually tried to connect my blog with Flicker but haven’t figured it out yet.

Very cool – so how about a flickr badge on your website so it’s easier for us to find your photos?

I just started playing around with it, I am not sure how I feel so far, I guess I will have to give it more time 🙂

Hi Tom,
Seeing Red Spotted Purple just made me swoon!
I have yet to look at Flicker. Will do so.
You are right about the expense of photography. LOL! So worth it.
Thank you for all the delights you share.
I have learned so much since I met you.
Happy Flicker Anniversary.
Sherry

I’m glad you joined Flickr, and glad you talked me into joining too.
18 December 2007 at 5:50 pm
I’ve recently joined Flickr but only use it to upload pictures to post on my blog, so I haven’t done any networking yet. There is only so much internet time and most of mine seems to be taken up with garden/nature blogs. I’ll have to spend a little time checking out the photography on Flickr now.
Congratulations!
18 December 2007 at 6:06 pm
@ Sherry – I enjoy seeing them also! I see you have been into the photography equipment!
@ Grace – ditto, thanks!
@ Robin – I have not been doing the networking as much as I use to but don’t worry they will find you! The blogging is almost a full time job for sure! Thanks

well, Mon@rch, your discovery of Flickr and blogging has been advantageous for the rest of us and I’ve learned a lot from you in the short time I’ve been visiting your blog. I’m looking forward to year 3.
