My life is about living with nature – here you can live it with me!

RUTH ROCKS!

Does this picture look familiar?

The picture above was stolen from “Nature Knitter Blog” (Sorry Ruth)!. But there is reason for me doing so (really there is a reason)! Ok, here is the story! While catching up on everyone’s blog postings . . . . last Tuesday Ruth did a post where she said “No time for a post tonight. See you tomorrow with jelly pictures!” And of course . . . . me being the dumb ass that I am . . . . I say “send a jar my way? Hmmm”!! Then on Wednesday Ruth posted this picture of her amazing Grape Jelly that she made!!  I really do need someone to sensor what I type because I was thinking with my stomach and said “Looks like the one on the far left wasn’t filled up all the way. You really shouldn’t save that one so please feel free to send it off this way! LOL!”. O – Ruth . . . . you sure are a sweetheart!! I bet you can’t guess what ended up in my mail box this evening?

The Lucky Mon@rch!!

Ruth . . . . Thanks so much for your wonderful gift! You really didn’t have to do this but since you did “YEAH!!”!!  I couldn’t have thought of any other way to thank you than by doing this post!!  ROCK ON!!
The video below is of a Raccoon gorging on some Wild Grapes! This video will be me tomorrow morning when I open the jar for my morning toast and then me heading off to work after eating the whole jar!

PS: If you have not headed over to Ruth’s blog . . . . you have to check out what she has mastered with her hummingbirds!

  2. Hi Tom,
You are most welcome. I hope you enjoy it.

Those grapes weren’t too sweet right off the vine, but apparently Mr. Raccoon thought so….that was a funny video (no wonder you were nominated for “Best Animal Blogger”)

  4. Who says bloggers aren’t real friends!? I love the video clip (and your self-portrait). I was nearly as awkward when I was picking wild grapes. The best ones were always just out of reach, but no tree climbing for me, thank you very much. Ruthie’s hummingbird pictures are amazing!

  6. Very sweet of Miss Ruth . I love the raccoon. My middle son had a puppet raccoon that resembles your gorger. He got the brilliant idea to place it in the mailbox one day while I was at work. I get home from work and open the mailbox and just about pee my pants because the raccoon pops out and falls on me. He still laughs about that. nita

  7. Ruth is obviously a gem…. I’ve met a few gals over here just like that – and aren’t they a surprise? Your Rocky Raccoon is a gorgeous guy I wonder why he hasn’t been to Hollywood yet?

Ruth is a busy and talented gal. Her hummingbird post knocked me over!

I got a jar, too… But I at least returned a jar of currant jelly (which you have also been gifted in the past…) What did you send her?

  18. And I’m pleased to report that Jennifer’s currant jelly is delicious and made by her own hands with currants from the bush in her backyard!

    14 September 2007 at 2:06 pm

  19. @Jen – shhh not saying but I bet you can guess! ooo Currant!! Hmmm!
@Bernie – I get that at the store, hmm great to have a glass every morning!
@ Ruthie – You are making me hungry! Jen’s been soo good to me . . . . she let me use two of her backpacks for our hiking trip, then she brought a bunch of kids to take over my house (which BTW was what got me addicted to flickr and then got me into this) she left me some currant jelly! Hmmm, That is a great trade Ruth!
