Today NatureWoman (Pam) came out to visit me here in Allegany State Park and check out the big basin area (our older growth forest). After spending a few hours with the big trees, we visited many of the other “Allegany” tourist spots. We had a hard time taking pictures due to it raining every time we got out of the vehicles; we still had a blast chit chatting together!
Some of the interesting critters we found while on our hike.
We took a quick detour to the Thunder Rocks area.
and of course found some flowers at Thunder Rocks which for the life of me can’t remember their name! Yellow C something! Pam, do you remember what Grace told us they were?? Grace help!!
Our last stop of the day ended up in Salamanca getting a little food (where we ran into Grace).
I just had to include these two moss photos from the Thunder Rocks area!
I had such a wonderful time meeting and spending the day with Pam. I don’t think the dictionary has enough words to describe how kind and wonderful she is. With her next visit we will have to do some bird banding together so that she can take many more macro photos (Pam, how did those turn out?). Do visit NatureWoman’s blog and take the time to say hello!
