House Finch
House Finch was all over the Ranch while visiting Texas last December. They are easily ignored but they really are pretty birds.

That’s a lot of house finches. Great photos. Now, I’m starting to think we have both house and purple finches at our place.

Amazing! When I was in San Antonio and Houston over the Christmas holiday, cardinals were the ubiquitous bird! ~karen

I was in Texas last January. Saw many beautiful birds. This bird the House Finch was my last sighting for that trip. There was a pair sitting in the tree tops as we waited for out cab to airport. I couldn’t tell what they were until I got home and downloaded the pictures (that were terrible .. too far away but good enough to ID) You are right about this finch being a bird that can easily be ignored, but is oh so beautiful. I have never seen this many in one place. Your photos really captured their beauty.

It sure is nice to see pretty pictures of birds and trees and fences – and NOT ONE DROP OF SNOW!!!
Thanks, Tom. Spring will come again!
