Fledgling Northern Rough-winged Swallow
Fledgling Northern Rough-winged Swallow
While walking around Allegany State Park (Red House Lake) yesterday, I found these two fledgling Northern Rough-winged Swallow being fed by mom. I knew the mother bird would return with more bugs and so I waited . . .
The fledgling taking a quick nap before mom returns!
. . . and I waited . . .
. . . the babies would also find things to do before mom would return . . .
These guys are soo cute! Mom did a quick fly-by and the kids started yelling. Mom circled and returned with her prized bugs! The picture below is the only decent picture that I captured with mom and she wasn’t too fond of the click, click, click of the camera. Seconds later she call the babies away with only my memories of the last 10 minutes with her little baby birdies.
Mom finally arrives with bugs!
More proof that all baby birds are too cute for words!
