My life is about living with nature – here you can live it with me!

Labor Day is about Camping

Campsite

I hope everyone had a wonderful Labor Day holiday this weekend. Of course my little buddy Young Naturalist J’s family and other friends were camping here in Allegany this weekend. They are always soo good to me and did someone say fun? . . . . I will let the following pictures show you how much fun we had!!

4 against 1

Who doesn’t love a game of dodge ball on the beach.

volleyball

Then a game of volleyball before the sun sets.

Forest Dodge Ball

Anyone for a game of forest dodge ball?

3 . . 2 . . 1 . . Go . . Go . . Go

You have to love when you’re their main target!

I also have to thank my two guest bloggers for helping with my nature blog while being attacked by dodge balls. If you happen to miss them, Pam did a wonderful post on Interrupted Ferns and the Fern Finder Guide that she uses.  Then Young Naturalist C did a wonderful post about her Whale Watching Trip she took while on vacation at Cape Cod.  I really appreciate you taking the time to do these wonderful posts!

What you mean Labour Day isn’t about trooping through the forest for a new banding site? I knew we were doing something wrong?

Looks like you guys had fun! I did too-saw three lifers today-Snipe, Solitary Sandpiper and I can’t for the life of me (get it?) think of the other one-will have to check Richards book.

~happy weekend fun to you! Labor Day is a good time for the outdoors.
There’s a tag game bouncing around the blogger pal net. I just got tagged and am tagging you!
If you think it would be fun, post 6 idiosyncratic things about you and tag some other blogger pals to post on that theme. 🙂

  8. So glad you had fun. And see taking a break from blogging doesn’t hurt. Don and I were just talking about going camping again soon. Your blog sure inspires me to get out into the woods.

  13. Hey wait a minute I don’t see any tents, but I do see a comfortable camper, now that is my type of camping. Looks like you had a great time Tom.

  14. Three against one? EEK! ;c) Hope you were able to dodge a few.

  15. Tom, isn’t it amazing the variety of ways we have to celebrate Labor Day. You went camping, I went to our local city’s end of summer festival, other bloggers went to parades. And some even got to see fireworks.
I agree with Cathy–nothing beats the smell of wood smoke–and your first picture captures the whole ambience of camping.

  16. @ Bernie – I am looking into maybe upgrading my tent to a pop up! Much easier on the back for sure! We always do!
@ Jayne – many times it was three on one but the other way! Poor Young Naturalist C was the last one many times!
@ KGMom – It is wonderful for sure! But it’s all about taking a break from work and enjoying life! Awww!
