I am a naturalist, field biologist and nature photographer from the Western New York area. I have started exploring nature writing through this blog and it truly has been fun sharing my numerous adventures with everyone. Occasionally some Young Naturalists will help me with my post and they will be sharing some of their nature explorations as they too are becoming young writers, photographers and naturalist.

I read an interesting thing over the summer: some baby birds’ throats are often bright red, while others have a duller colour. The ones with lower levels of sugar in their system have redder throats, indicating that they need to be fed.
